I hired Kristina in the Spring of 2012 to coach me for my second Ironman Canada. My goal was to beat my previous year’s time and I knew that to do that, I was going to have to do some pretty specific training.
I was a bit nervous as I had never worked one-on-one with a coach before. But Kristina put me at ease immediately. In our first session she meticulously went over my goals and within a few days she skillfully created a clear path for me to achieve what I set out to do. She is incredibly knowledgeable and professional.

Within a matter of days after our first meeting she had created a detailed, specific training plan for me that took into account some of the injuries that I was dealing with. Her response time when I had questions or concerns about my training was always within 24 hours and she often got back to me the same day with follow up questions and training modifications.
It is difficult to balance the three sports of triathlon correctly, especially when training for an Ironman distance. With Kristina’s program, I noticed that she created this balance by stripping out all the ‘junk miles’ I had previously been doing and made every work out count. I was so confident with the way she was balancing my three sports and the training sessions that I stopped worrying or looking ahead to see what was coming next. I simply focused on the weeks’ tasks at hand.
In the lead up to my race I felt stronger and more prepared than I had ever felt before. On race day I executed the plan we had discussed almost perfectly. While it’s impossible for everything to go exactly the way you want it to in an ultra distance race like Ironman, Kristina’s program got me close to perfect. I rode an incredible personal best on the bike, smashing my previous bike time by almost an hour. Despite stomach troubles on the run, I ended up completing Ironman under 13 hours which is over half an hour faster than the previous year!
